Anansi and His Web of Stories
Dual facilitated interactive story-telling performance
Drawn originally from traditional tales of the Ashanti people of Ghana and then carried into the Caribbean, the Anansi stories delight their audience with their huge energy and sense of fun.
Anansi can be both a spider and a man with a spider's ability and is sometimes seen as a trickster or a teach. Anansi mostly uses his trickes to do something good and when he does something bad, he teaches the consequences, allowing these delightful stories to carry a moral - if lighthearted - message.Stories include "From Tiger to Anansi" and "Clever Anansi and the Boastful Bullfrog". Suitable for: Key Stage 1 and 2 Curriculum: In addition to contributing directly to a greater understanding of Black History, these pieces also support the Literacy curriculum. Return from
