Bullying in Secondary Schools
Bullying in secondary schools is tackled by developing the anti-bullying work created at the primary level and taking it further. We lay emphasis on making smart choices, conflict resolution and peer pressure.
At this level we explore the negative effects of bullying as pupils progress to higher education or even the workplace. We try to help them understand the devastating nature of bullying and its consequences and to help them grow up and take responsibility for their own actions.
'Cry Baby Carly' Performance Assembly
*NEW*The secondary school production of 'Cry Baby Carly' is a hard-hitting masked / physical theatre piece that focusses on the distressing journey of a young girl and her problems with cyber-bullying from a group of her peers.
This is a gritty exploration of a real life story and aims to confront the pupils with the issues involved and the consequences of their actions. Cry Baby Carly challenges young people to face the impact of bullying on people, their education and social development.
NB: This is a more challenging version of the Cry Baby Carly performance aimed at primary schools.
'Boxed In' Performance Assembly
Our mask and physical theatre production 'Boxed In' was developed to tackle issues of homophobia within secondary schools, but can be used to equal effect, in conjunction with intensive follow-on workshops, to look at issues of bullying within secondary schools and acting as a springboard to further discussion and debtate.
In addition to the above issues, workshops offered in conjunction with 'Boxed In' would also focus on matters of empowerment.
