Drama

Caboodle offers a large number of drama workshops covering all aspects of theatre that encourage creativity, improve confidence and stimulate the imagination. Children learn to take instructions, focus on the task in hand and respond to what is happening around them.

We can also offer INSET Training within your school.
drama increases confidence and concentration

Introduction to Performing Skills

This is a fun filled introduction to performance, using improvisation, freeze frames, characterisation, movement, devising and mime. A taste of different performance skills to raise your pupils' enthusiasm.

Intensive Workshops

These sessions involve the same types of skills taught in the introductory workshop. However, in addition, pupils relate what they have learnt directly to a script that they will perform at the end of term.

Social and Topical Theatre

This workshop uses performance to examine different social and topical issues. It allow pupils to explore situations in a more creative context. The workshop supports teaching of PSHE curriculum

History Through Performance

Are your pupils studying Ancient Egypt, Anglo Saxons, World War 2, the Celts, or Victorian Britain?

Our facilitators can lead workshops to help to develop their understanding of and enthusiasm for National Curriculum topics through the medium of performance. Chose from one of the above, or ask us to devise something new to fit in with your chosen topic. We love a challenge!

Shakespeare Made Easy

Pupils don't need to struggle to understand Shakespeare any longer. We can help pupils learn to love it! Workshops can be tailored around your chosen text, focus on individual scenes and explore different themes, characters and relationships. We can also re-write text to modern day language or even rehearsing full plays.

This is a course developed to help pupils learn to appreciate and understand Shakespeare and to see how many of the themes running through his works have resonance today.

Script Writing

This course encompasses the whole creative process from developing ideas, building a script through improvisation, creating characters and rehearsing the final piece for performance.

Drama Devise

Drama devise can be a useful tool in developing story telling skills and the practical physicalization of a story better enables children to take ideas back to the classroom.

We will often use themes such as magic, myth and legend that the children can relate to. Workshops can be based on issues such as racism, but in a more gentle way that is applicable to primary level children.

NB: We can also offer workshops in Radio Drama and Presenting to talented Year 5 and 6 pupils.
