Lion's Lair - Enterprise & Transition workshops

Single facilitated workshops

This flexible full or half day workshop, that combines elements of enterprise skills with drama and public speaking, challenges your pupils to develop and present a product before their peers and/or teachers within the fearsome Lion’s Lair.

This is a fun, educational way to learn skills that will be indispensible during transition to secondary level, equipping pupils with key tools to benefit them in their move to a more mature environment.

The workshop will leave pupils and teachers alike with ideas for follow up work and enable them to experience a business project from a number of different angles.

Alternatively, we can lay a greater emphasis on transition and less on enterprise. The outline of the full or half day is similar, but pupils will be encouraged to think about how the exercises can better prepare them for life within the new environment of secondary school. In this case we will particularly encourage the facing of new challenges, confronting fears and bolstering confidence and self esteem.

Exercises covered include:
• team work and co-operation
• confidence and self-esteem
• persuasive writing and debate (speaking and listening skills)
• developing creativity and
• undertaking new challenges.

Suitable for:

Upper KS2 but is designed with Year 6 particularly in mind. Can be adapted for any level.

Curriculum:

In addition to supporting the work of the transition itself, this workshop will help prepare pupils for work at secondary level.

NB: Our tutors will need access to smart board / or interactive facilities for this project.
