Interactive Anti-Bullying Assemblies
Our dual facilitated Interactive Drama Assemblies for secondary schools give pupils an opportunity to explore and debate the issues surrounding bullying.
Through a series of group drama exercises the pupils are encouraged to think about and explore issues such as empathy, difference, acceptance, peer pressure and co-operation.The assemblies are led by 2 facilitators and are designed to be an upbeat, fun and thought provoking springboard to further discussion. At all times our facilitators endeavour not to label ‘bullies’ or ‘victims’, but work in the third person and actively discourage personal disclosure so that no pupil is made to feel vulnerable. Our aim is to make pupils aware of the behaviour associated with bullying and its effects. We are encouraging them to take responsibility for their behaviour and to develop an understanding of how it feels to be in someone else’s place. Suitable for: Key Stage 3 & 4. Curriculum: Assemblies support the Citizenship and PSHE curricula. They can also be used to support the English curriculum as a vehicle for the development of pupil ability to research and debate, as well as providing an exercise for practicing persuasive literature.
