Prejudice and Assumptions
February is LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) Awareness month, giving us a wonderful opportunity to celebrate diversity with your pupils, encouraging them to see it as a positive force.
Boxed In
*New for 2009* This performance combines mask and physical theatre to tell the story of one young boy’s problems with homophobia from a particular group of peers. The piece is designed to springboard further discussion and debate and is an ideal way of introducing issues to be further explored within workshops. It covers many of the stereotypes and assumptions about being gay and challenges the audience to address their way of thinking and behaving.
Workshops
Our Prejudice & Assumptions workshops will help you to promote equality and acceptance within your school and work with your pupils towards encouraging a safe learning environment for all. Delicate issues can often be raised and we therefore do recommend dual facilitation, giving our tutors the opportunity to deal with these with increased sensitivity. However, if your budget does not allow for this, we can, offer single facilitation, depending on tutor availability.
