Transition Workshops
Transition workshops explore issues associated with the move to Secondary School. This can be a daunting prospect, so we focus on the many positive aspects as well as issues of concern and allowing pupils to work for a while within their new school undoubtedly helps the change. We prepare pupils for some of the emotional and social aspects, looking to improve their self esteem and confidence and helping them make smart choices about the process. To achieve this we use different drama games and exercises, Forum Theatre techniques and Image Theatre. Secondary SchoolsLet us work with your forthcoming Year 7 pupils on your premises. Involve us in your familiarisation process or use us to provide stand alone workshops. We can involve your current Year 7 pupils and encourage them as mentors. Longer multi-day workshops can be used to devise a piece surrounding the issues, for performance to existing pupils in your school - a wonderful way of introducing the new intake.Primary SchoolsWe are happy to work with your current Year 6's, either within your school or at their new Secondary school (see above). Let us help you prepare them for the move in single or multi day workshops culminating in a performance piece that could examine issues of saying goodbye and moving on as well as looking forward in hope.Ideally, workshops take place at the end of June, or beginning of July, but timing can be flexible to fit in with what works best for the school.
